Does removal hurt?

The procedure is well tolerated. Sensitive lesions will be numbed with lidocaine prior to removal.

Will there be a scar?

Dr. Obayan uses precise removal techniques to minimize scarring. Some patients experience a small pink or light colored mark that fades over weeks. Patients with skin of color may take several weeks for pigment to normalize. Wearing sunscreen and avoiding sun exposure helps everything resolve better.

Can insurance cover this?

Cosmetic lesion removal is not covered by insurance, it is considered a cosmetic procedure.
